Why are you introducing a license for your framework?
The SPAR® methodology has been adopted widely — which is great! - but it's sometimes been used beyond the original scope of our sessions without authorization. Licensing ensures consistent, supported use of the methodology and helps protect the integrity of the work.
Does this apply to work we’re already doing together?
No. Current sessions or projects remain as agreed. You’re free and even encouraged to use the work product from your training - such as the narratives developed together - but a license is required if you intend to reuse, retransmit, relay, or reteach the underlying methodology in any way. The training was designed for your personal development, not for redistribution.
What exactly does the license cover?
It covers all use of our proprietary framework — structure, visuals, exercises, and language — in any internal or external communications or coaching contexts. At some tiers it also includes in-person or remote trainings or audits to ensure you're using the methodology properly. You'll access it through private links and automatically receive updated materials as they become available.
What if we just reference parts of the method occasionally?
If it’s light or informal use, we’re happy to talk. We’re not here to penalize teams for loving the method — we’re here to clarify and support appropriate use going forward.
Are you still available to lead sessions?
Absolutely. You can license the method and still bring us in for team training or leadership work, as many clients do. In fact, some tiers of the license include in-person or remote trainings - just email us for more details.
What do the license tiers look like?
They scale by organizational size and use — including enterprise licenses, team-level access, and individual certification. Each tier includes usage rights, guidelines, and support options.
How much will this cost?
Licensing is priced to scale with your organization’s size and usage. Tiers include individual practitioner and small-team licenses, with many solo-use licenses starting well below $5,000/year - up through larger enterprise agreements. We’re happy to provide a tailored quote based on your needs — no surprises, no pressure.
What happens if we don’t license it?
If you’re not actively using the method, no license is needed. If you are, we’ll work with you to determine the right level of access. We always begin with a conversation.
Is this a legal requirement?
Yes. The SPAR® methodology is protected by copyright. Like any proprietary material, it cannot be used without permission. Licensing provides that permission and structure.
Didn’t our original engagement mean we could keep using the methodology?
Your team had access to the methodology as part of the original training, but the underlying framework and materials are proprietary and weren’t transferred as property. Ongoing use — especially for internal training or coaching — requires a license. That’s exactly what our new program is designed to support.
Need time to run this up the chain — can you hold our place?
Yes. Licensing takes effect August 1, 2025, but we’re happy to hold your spot through October 15 for internal review. Just let us know you’re working on it.
We haven’t used your material in years. Do we still need to sign?
If you’re no longer using the framework in any form, no license is needed — but we do ask you to sign a brief non-use confirmation for our records: Click here to complete the form.
Who should we talk to if we have more questions?
Please email us— we’re happy to talk through the options that best support your team.
